Scholarships
For English Majors
Eligible English majors are encouraged to apply for a number of
University scholarships for the coming academic year. Scholarship
application forms will be available early in Spring semester. You can obtain INFORMATION AND FORMS
from Dr. Michael McCully (BCH115A), or Melanie Dworsak, English Department Secretary (BCH 115B).

Departmental Scholarship Recipients for 2012/2013 Academic Year
Catherine O. Renninger: $1000 [$500 each term]
[sophomore or junior, Secondary English, minimum 3.0 in major, financial need]

Cecil Seronsy: $350 [fall]
[any English or Secondary English major sophomore or above, completion of at least four English courses, academic excellence]

The receipient for this year's award is Kimberly West.
Louis F. Thompson: $300 [fall]
[any English or Secondary English major sophomore or above, completion of at least four English courses, academic excellence]
The receipient for this year's award is Melissa Reichard. 
Margaret Bittner Parke: $375 [fall]
[any English or Secondary English major sophomore or above, completion of at least four English courses, academic excellence]
The receipient for this year's award is Anne Reno. 
The Helen and Ervene Gulley Memorial Scholarship: $550 [fall]
[any English or Secondary English major sophomore or above, completion of at least four English courses, academic excellence]
The receipient for this year's award is Emily Arcuri. 
The following scholarships are open to all arts and sciences majors.

The John Hoch and O.H. and S.H. Bakeless Scholarships

Awards
EAPSU Outstanding English Major
The English Association of Pennsylvania State Universities recognizes
each year at its annual Fall convention an Outstanding English Major
from each of the 14 campuses in the SSHE system. The award winner
is a junior major in English and attends the convention as a guest
of EAPSU. This year's oustanding English major is Kelsey Hughes-Blaum. She presented a paper titled "Bella Swan: Leading Lady or Damsel in Distress" as well as chaired a panel of PASSHE Outstanding English Majors. Congratulations, Kelsey!
Bloomsburg English Department Outstanding English Major
Each year the faculty in the English Department vote on the outstanding student in each track of the major. The following students were awarded the "outstanding English major" in their respective tracks.
