48.281 Experimental Psychology: Methodology

Description: Introduces experimental design, statistical analysis and issues of control and confounding. Covers one, two and three factor designs. Surveys classic experimentation as well as issues in social, developmental, educational and clinical psychology from an experimental perspective. (3 semester hours credit)

Prerequisites: Minimum grade of C in 48.101 General Psychology; Minimum grade of C in 48.160 Basic Statistics

Note: Must have a C or better to continue as a Psychology Major.

Usually taught by: Dr. Ball, Dr. Cohen, Dr. Kontos, & Dr. Stouffer

Generally offered: Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. You must sign up for this course it the Psychology Office approximately one month prior to scheduling. The order of preference for students waiting to be placed in Methods is detailed here.

This course is required for Psychology Majors, required for Psychology Minors, and can fill a General Education requirement.
