Sciences & Health Sciences Living Learning Community

Mission:
The purpose of the Sciences and Health Sciences Living Learning Community is to provide an intellectually stimulating and supportive environment, connecting students, faculty, and upper divisional students, in promoting academic success and professional role development.  Since its inception in 1996, this community has garnered the distinction of being the oldest and largest living learning community on Bloomsburg’s campus.  A merger with the basic sciences in 2006 (biology, chemistry, and physics) provided the additional benefits to our students of having a firm connection and support system with the foundational science courses.  The Sciences and Health Sciences Living Learning Community has two major goals:

:: To provide a supportive living learning environment in which students can interface with faculty, administration, and each other in order to achieve academic success and to grow as an individuals and future professionals in one’s discipline.

:: To develop professional networking systems for our students in obtaining excellence in academic performance and role development in their future professions.

Our success story, over the past 11 years, is evident with students’ academic achievement, professional role development and career choices, involvement with professional organizations, and improvement in the retention of our students.
