A living and learning community (LLC) is a group of students who share common academic interests, live together in a residence hall, participate in activities together and are also enrolled in a cluster of related courses.

Since its inception in 1996, Living and Learning Programs at Bloomsburg University have been a forum for the exchange of ideas and information within a residential setting, providing out-of-class interaction between students and their faculty and supporting their academic endeavors. Through the years these Communities have fostered a collaborative atmosphere for faculty and students to construct new understanding and innovative strategies for integrating the in and out-of-classroom experience.

This website is designed to provide you with an overview of the various Living and Learning Communities at BU. You'll also hear from students, faculty and staff who are associated with these LLCs. They'll give you some first hand feedback on their experiences.

We hope that you take some time to explore this website. Many LLCs also maintain their own webpages, so please click through and explore each community in more detail. But keep in mind that BU is a personable place. We pride ourselves on this. So if you have individual questions, don't hesitate to call or email any of the faculty or staff listed throughout this website.

"I am honored to be the Living and Learning Community Secretary here at Bloomsburg University.  My main responsibility is to serve as the liaison between the administration, directors, faculty, and residence life staff to ensure that the LLC programs run smoothly and effectively.  Since I work so closely with the directors and advisory boards of the LLCs, I see first-hand how dedicated and passionate they are to making the students' first-year experience the best it can be.  It is inspiring to see their support and encouragement of our students.  I am proud to work with such amazing faculty, staff, and mentors.  BU is a great place to live, work, and learn."
